As we enter our fourth year, the Olathe Northwest Raven Pride Bands have earned the title of Olathe's Musical Ambassadors. All you have to do is look at our brief three-year history to see the impact that we've made on our community.
- Olathe District Faculty and Staff Convocation performance--one week before the school opened
- Opening of the new wing at Olathe Medical Center in September, 2003,
- Opening act for Maynard Ferguson and his Thundering Herd
- Olathe Veteran's Day Memorial performance, 2004
- Winning Jazz and Concert Bands at National Adjudicators Invitational Band Festival, Washington, D.C. in 2005
- Dedication of Prairie Star Parkway Bridge, Lenexa, in 2005
- Yearly marching performances at area universities
- Unanimous Division I or "superior" ratings at Kansas State Large Group Concert Band Festival, 2006
- 33 Jazz Combo performances at community events including Mayors Christmas Tree, Johnson County
- Council of Mayors, Hidden Glen Arts Festival, and numerous Chamber of Commerce functions
- 11 Division I or "superior" ratings at midwestern Jazz Festivals
- Winner of the 2006 Penn Valley/Kansas City Jazz Festival
- Yearly performances at Olathe service clubs including Rotary, Lions and Optimist Clubs
- Yearly drum line performance at the Olathe Chamber of Commerce Sunflower League Football Kick-Off
On November 11, 2006, The Northwest Raven Pride Marching Band will represent Olathe and the State of Kansas at the Nation's Parade, the National Veteran's Day Parade, in New York City, as well as a performance at the United Nations Plaza. We are both honored and proud to have the opportunity to serve and represent both the City of Olathe and the City of Lenexa. |
